Verbling vs Italki: 2024 Comparison

published September 20, 2023 - updated June 17, 2024

The main difference between Verbling and iTalki is that Verbling is much less strict when it comes to trial lessons and lets the teachers themselves decide whether they want to offer a free session. However, Verbling offers far fewer language options compared to iTalki.

Mastering a new language can be a daunting task for many individuals. Whether it’s figuring out complex grammar structures or getting a hang of pronunciation, sometimes self-study or group classes fall short. It’s natural to seek more personalized guidance in such cases, emphasizing the value of one-on-one lessons. Many people have turned to online platforms for this personalized touch, and searching for specifics besides Verbling and iTalki (see Verbal Planet reviews) might give insights into one such platform’s effectiveness and user experience.

The solution to this lies in online language learning platforms. Verbling and iTalki are both well-known language tutoring websites. Those platforms connect language enthusiasts with native speakers and professional tutors from around the world. While they might seem similar in their services, there are distinct differences between the two that cater to diverse learning preferences and needs. If you’re curious about user experiences on one of these platforms, looking through italki.com reviews might provide you with useful insights from other language learners.

I’ve been using Verbling for years, and I was quite satisfied with it, but I’m afraid it’s now dead. Their social media was last updated in Halloween 2022. The in-app “updates” feature has no posts in over a year (they don’t show the exact date of the last one but “one year ago”, I would bet it’s actually late 2022). New functionalities and bugfixes haven’t appeared in a while, and the Android app has been delisted from the Play Store. It was a great service, but I’m afraid it’s time to pick something else now.
