As I see it, it’s no more than using a calculator in a math class.

Note that this feature, alongside full access to the AI essay generator, isn’t free. The website has a monthly subscription of $9.99 or an annual plan with a $7.50 monthly charge. What’s great though, is that we were able to try the features of EssayGenius before purchasing, and generated one essay for free. So make sure you also make use of the platform’s chargeless text generation before committing to it for a whole month. But if you do choose to go with the paid plan, EssayGenius premium account is as affordable as Notion AI.

Essay Genius is also not only about text generation. Sadly, there are no options for summarization or rewriting of the text. Nonetheless, you will be able to rephrase the sentences you don’t like right on the platform. 

By the way, also consider that the service is now only available as an online platform, and can’t be installed as an app or added as an extension to your browser. We also weren’t quite satisfied seeing this tendency, as we understand how much more convenient it would be if you could harvest this AI’s potential right in your Google Docs. 

As we looked at all the opportunities provided by EssayGenius.ai and its prices, we couldn’t say that we were satisfied. For now, this platform could hardly be called a complex AI essay-generating service. That’s why its value for money turned out quite low and should definitely be improved.

AI is here to make our life easier and that’s why simplicity should be a cornerstone of every AI text generator in the market. After all, convenience is what most students seek when they look for a tool to help them with writing. 

On the contrary to the value for money aspect, Essaygenius showed to be great in terms of the overall experience. The first thing we noticed was that it was easy to register and didn’t require us to take any additional steps. All we needed was our email and our profile was set up in seconds. Nonetheless, if you don’t want to create an account right away, keep in mind that you can try the platform’s features without it as well. 

The website itself was very minimalistic but therefore easy to manage. The essay generation was simple as well. We created the document, typed down our topic, and, just after 10 seconds we had our essay done and ready. There was, though, a 350-word limit per generation. Thus, if you decide to create a long paper, consider generating a few texts in one to gain more ideas and reach that word count.

Customer support is also an aspect that greatly contributes to a pleasant experience. Yet, there’s a tendency among AI text generators to look over this fact, and Essaygenius is not an exception here. Essaygenius for Writing: Paper Quality — 32.4/50 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

You want an AI generator to create a quality essay for you, don’t you? But it’s hard to know. You probably already heard numerous stories about unsuccessfully created papers and wouldn’t want yours to be the same.

Well, we checked whether Essay Genius would repeat any of these stories by creating an essay of our own using its algorithms. When we generated the text, we didn’t have many opportunities to organize it into the document right there. The platform allowed us to do minor formatting (like changing fonts) but other than that there were no options to choose APA or MLA formats, create an outline, or add references. So take into account this fact when planning out your time for paper writing.

As we organized everything into one document, we sent it to our partner Dr Sybil  for evaluation. The essay came back with 84.2/100 pts grade. It got the highest score (100%) for spelling and grammar and near-perfect results for punctuation (95%) and word choice (96%). Clarity was also notably good, gaining 90%. 

There also were some problematic results. The text was a little short and there were small issues with formatting (mainly font control and vertical spacing). The main problems though were with objectivity of the writing, which only gained 61%, and efficiency, as it was marked with 51%.

Professor Sybil shared her comments about the reviewed paper:

This essay was interesting to read, mainly because of the vocabulary that was used. The narrative was just flowing like a river. I would be happy to read more of that story. I think I could have marked it higher if the plot line was more elaborate. For me, the topic wasn’t fully disclosed. I also noticed the sentences getting a bit repetitive at times and that was when it became evident that it wasn’t a student who wrote this paper. Generally, if someone added a personal touch to the text it would have resulted even in a higher grade.

In the end, Essaygenius almost nailed the essay. So it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to use its text as a starting point for your writing assignments.

It can help you out with your writing homework, especially if you were looking for AI software solely for text generation purposes. Unfortunately, other than that, it doesn’t have a versatile toolkit that you could use to improve your papers’ grammar or referencing.
