About
Hey there! I’m Lesley, a Chicago-based wordsmith who writes for both work and play. I’m a massive fan of the Oxford comma, and I’m on a mission to banish all unnecessary adverbs.
My gig? I dive into data research, whip up content, and polish texts for a handful of education blogs.
You might have stumbled across my work on big-name sites like Moz, Content Marketing Institute, WordSteam, and Mention, where I often drop in as a guest writer.
I also do a bit of secret scribbling for authors on HuffPost, Inc., and Entrepreneur. Shh, it’s our little secret.
I’ve been at this writing game for 9 years, and I’m planning on spilling all my juicy tips and tricks in an e-book. (Easier said than done, but I’m giving it my all.)
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me exploring new places, catching the latest flicks (Meryl Streep is my queen), and burying my nose in a book (King, Twain, and Hemingway are my writing coaches).
I’m the first to admit I’m not perfect and I’m always looking to up my game. Jon Morrow, Aaron Orendorff, and Henneke Duistermaat are the pros who keep me aiming for the stars, reminding me that my best work is still to come.
Feel free to drop me a line – whether you want to say hi, hire me to write for you, critique my work, or suggest some killer blogs, books, or media. I’m all ears!
Oh, and by the way, if you want to grab my attention in a flash, just mention coffee, foxes, or The New Yorker. Works every time!
