I’ve already written posts about music that helps me work on my writing when I feel cheerful, energetic, or calm and contemplative. But today, I suddenly remembered that I (as well as many other writers) also tend to work when feeling melancholic. In fact, this is one of my most favorite moods for work, because while in it, I am the most focused on work, and in closest touch with my thoughts.

And of course, I have selected background music for this kind of mood that I’d like to share with you.

This one always gives me goosebumps when I listen to it. Though I can speak Japanese only a little, I can understand a couple of words (perhaps, it’s the Okinawan dialect), but the song is definitely beautiful and meaningful. P.S. I was looking for a better video, but couldn’t find any.

Just watch it, and I bet you’ll love this song as much as I do (if only you manage to get through the singer’s thick Slavic accent).

Somehow, these guys manage to write songs that are simultaneously cheerful, melancholic, and nostalgic. This one always reminds me of the yellow autumn evenings of my teen years.

You couldn’t have not heard it.

This is a melody without lyrics, but it is nevertheless touching, and says everything important through the music.

I won’t post too many videos this time. You can share your favorite music for writing in comments, as usual.

Have a nice day, and stay updated.
