Defining the Go-To Personal Statement Writing Service

In any instance, claims should be supported by facts to be called believable and trustworthy. That’s why we always present our own unique findings in our reviews. How did we get them? Our team of reviewers placed orders with all the listed websites and evaluated this process according to the three main criteria: value for money, overall experience, and paper quality.

We placed two orders in particular: one basic 2-page personal essay and a lengthier 4-page business memo. We feel the theme of the first paper corresponds more with the topic of a personal statement. That’s why we base our ranking on the results of this piece of writing, which we acquire through an evaluation of our fellow US college professor. Besides that, we take into account the average paper quality and the general A*Help score. We will also highlight the aspects that admission officers pay attention to, represented by grammar and vocabulary scores, acuity and logic, and the authenticity of the narrative itself.

Here is what we asked to write:

⭐ Personal Essay (2 pages)

Well, with the consolidation of 15+ years of expertise and a versatile selection of topics, writers, and types of tasks, this platform couldn’t be a more perfect match for students who need assistance with their personal statements

Having received our finished personal story and sent it for evaluation, it came out with the highest score: 92.6/100 pts. The main parameters, such as grammar & vocabulary gained 100% and 88% respectively, while acuity and general logic acquired 95% and 89%. You can get a more detailed view of the results at the end of the abstract.

Now the content of the essay itself. From the very beginning, the writer established open communication with us. They inquired about our life experiences which they could use as the base of their work. The story uncovered a narrative about a strong bond in a unique friendship.  However, the author also included an appealing emotional aspect following the description of the narrator’s issues in the academic field. Thus they created a plot that outlined all the aspects of our persona that could be admirable not only for an average reader but for admission officers as well.

With all that taken into account, we received a unique piece of writing reflecting our personal experience and growth from a positive perspective. In general, our performer did a great job in incorporating the given details and making not just a storytelling piece but a truly personal statement.

In addition to all of the above, the platform also maintained top-notch results in terms of overall experience (23/25) and value-for-money ratio (22/25). Given CustomWritings legit services, it just couldn’t land any further than in the first place on this list.

General Logic

EssayPro is not just another out-of-blue hyped-up website. This platform’s popularity is rather earned by its affordable prices and quality work. And if you don’t believe all the fuss about it going around on the Internet, take a look at the facts we found.

The evaluation of our personal essay paper showed that it scored especially high in grammar (100%) and word choice (89%). Acuity (87%) and overall logic (80%), as you can judge yourself, were also notable. As the result, the paper acquired 89.7/100 pts. At the end of this abstract, you can follow a thorough breakdown of the results.

Our dedicated writer turned out to be very communicative asking us about our background to ensure a convincing plotline. So, our story was skilfully entwined showing a strong personal example throughout the narrative. It emotionally described the gratitude of the immigrant student, their life struggles, and academic achievements. Despite the sentiments, the narrative followed a robust structure: an introduction, a conclusion, and a thesis statement, which contribute to the general consistency of thought. As the writer followed our unique life description, they successfully came up with an authentic text which is especially admirable for those who want to have an impressive personal statement.

In addition, EssayPro provided us with helpful customer support and a generally high-quality overall experience (23/25). The value-for-money ratio could have been better though, only gaining 16/25 points. Nevertheless, it doesn’t make EssayPro any worse of a choice as an efficient personal essay-writing platform.

General Logic

EssayShark, a long-established service, definitely seems to be a sound choice for most students. Usually, they offer expertise, experience, and prime writing results.

Having sent our essay for the professorial grading, we got it back marked with 88.2/100 pts. Grammar was evaluated with a high result of 94%. As for vocabulary, this aspect could have been slightly better gaining only 75%. Acuity and logic, on the other hand, showed great scores of 98% and 85%. A more precise evaluation is presented at the end of this description.

The text itself was distinguishable by the thematic division of its parts, with subheadings defining each plot line individually. The writer took interest in our personal story, so the narrative followed the legend we presented. It also supported the main idea of the essay and concentrated on gratitude for the circumstances and social environment that shaped the author. The paper successfully projected the narrator’s positive attitude towards the acquired experience. Even though the chosen structure wasn’t common for an essay, it helped to concentrate the attention on all the essential points as well as show a complex personality development.

The value for money that EssayShark presented us with (12/25), did lower its general A*Help score a bit, even despite great overall experience (21/25). However, in terms of personal statement production, this service did not disappoint, leading us to place it at the 3d position on the list.

Personal essay indexes:

SCORE: 88.2 out of 100 pts. Document formatting is very good, but there is room for improvement. Document formatting issues: vertical spacing; body header; section headers. |Observations:| {Integrity}: 100%. {Length}: 100%. {Mechanics:} 90% (spelling 98%, grammar 94%, punctuation 94%, word choice 75%). {Formatting:} ungraded. {Reasoning, logic:} 85% (efficiency 51%, acuity 98%, clarity 100%, objectivity 91%).

A screenshot of the StudyBay homepage from the list of personal statement services

General Logic

Affordable service that helps students aim at those top-notch results? We agree that it can be hard to find such an expedient option. Luckily, you don’t have to search for it too long as Studybay is always at your service. We checked this platform and confirmed this statement as a fact.

As for the results, after the evaluation, the essay received 88/100 pts. The paper showed to have nearly-ideal grammar, getting a 97% score in this aspect. Unfortunately, the writer didn’t seem to work well on the word choice as it gained only 63%. The results in logic (89%) and acuity (90%), on the other hand, came out to be notably high. Other details can be referred to at the end of this abstract.

The writer did not pass on the opportunity to ask us about the personal experience to build their narrative. As the result, we got a customized text that followed the story of a student impacted by their family. Even though the language in the text was slightly detached, it still conveyed a personal attitude toward the experience. The writer succeeded in presenting the given information as a structured essay about academic and personal success with a strongly outlined thesis statement. With some addition of emotional appeal, this text could be taken as an inspiration sample for a personal statement.

The paper quality is not the only thing that StudyBay proved to accomplish. It also has excellent results in overall experience (25/25) and not lagging behind the value-for-money aspect (21/25). Thus, for us, it was obvious where StudyBay should be placed on this list, and it’s the 4th place.

Personal essay indexes:

SCORE: 88.0 out of 100 pts. Document formatting is good, but there is room for improvement. Document formatting issues: vertical spacing; line spacing; page header; font control. |Observations:| {Integrity}: 100%. {Length}: 100%. {Mechanics:} 89% (spelling 100%, grammar 97%, punctuation 94%, word choice 63%). {Formatting:} ungraded. {Reasoning, logic:} 89% (efficiency 76%, acuity 90%, clarity 92%, objectivity 100%).

General Logic

SpeedyPaper is among the first ones to lend a hand to struggling students. Academic writing, proofreading, editing, and handling all other types of tasks are not a problem for this website. Besides, it claims to only provide evidence- and reasoning-based essays which is a definite plus if you need help with your personal statement writing.

The personal essay we ordered came out with a result of 86.5/100 pts. The results in all of the most important for a personal statement aspects turned out to be sufficiently good. Grammar and acuity both got marked with 89%, while vocabulary and logic got 77%. You can find a more detailed picture of the results at the end of this part of the review.

Unfortunately, in contrast to our experience with other platforms, the writer from SpeedyPaper didn’t request any personal information to compose the work based on it. Instead, they came up with a rather common but appealing story describing a background of a person whose teacher helped them overcome studying hardships. The writer’s emotional appeal wasn’t tacky, but rather pertinent considering the plotline of success despite all the obstacles. Still, an inquiry about some of life’s details of our persona would be a more efficient approach, considering we hoped to get a personal statement.

To be fair, SpeedyPaper did show great results in paper quality, as well as the value-for-money ratio (23/25), making it a good choice for those who need some help with their personal statements.

General Logic

CheapestEssay is the essay-writing platform that offers help from top-rated writers who can meet all the academic requirements. But we wouldn’t be so sure about it if we didn’t check their services ourselves.

The personal narrative assignment was graded 84.4/100 pts. The word choice, as well as grammar, came out with fine results of 84% and 81%. The index of acuity also didn’t get far behind acquiring 83%. Though, it seems that the writer didn’t give enough attention to the general logic of the text, which resulted in a 73% mark. Other results are presented at the end of this description.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see a completely personal essay. The author skipped the part where they should have inquired about our life story and decided to describe an imaginary person with a very specific past experience instead. The narrative, however, was well-structured, with three-body paragraphs, but a rather vague thesis statement. The emotional approach, chosen by the writer, was admirable and awakened a feeling of interest in the narrator’s persona.

Considering great value for money (23/25) and generally quality delivery of the papers, CheapestEssay deserves to be included in the list at its 6th position.

General Logic

Choosing EduBirdie is the way to go for students who want to set the right foot on their academic path. With such a vast selection of expert writers and pleasant Edubirdie prices, why not choose this platform as the one to help you with the creation of a personal statement?

The grading of our essay resulted in 83.9/100 pts. Acuity and general logic were marked as good, though having some room for improvement with their 78% and 76%. Grammar results, on the other hand, received 87% which is a reasonably good result. The vocabulary too could use some work as it only acquired 63%. A more thorough breakdown of the evaluation is presented at the end of this review for your consideration.

Our writer, despite not having close communication with us, came up with a versatile text that would fit most students out there. The narrative included the typical struggles of an average student and a ready-to-help English teacher saving the situation. Despite not using more sophisticated language, the text conveyed a touching story and successfully portrayed a ready-to-progress person. Quite a good perspective of description for an appealing personal statement.

Generally, EduBirdie reviews support the fact that the platform provided us with a great overall experience (20/25), good value for money (20/25), and high paper quality. We just couldn’t skip on including it in this review and giving it its rightfully acquired 7th place.

The revision of the essay showed that it got 80.9/100 pts. Despite acquiring such a sufficient score, some of the paper’s aspects weren’t marked as high as we hoped they would. The main issues were with the used vocabulary (51%) and the general logic of the text (59%). The acuity index didn’t suffer though, getting 76%. Luckily, grammar, which is one of the most essential aspects of a well-written personal statement, resulted in a close-to-perfect 91%. You can familiarize yourself with other results at the end of this abstract.

The writer didn’t forget to contact us directly. However, it felt like they didn’t get all the necessary details to write a strong personal essay. The writer ended up with the story of a child feeling left out and alone in their school life. Prominently, the narration was presented as a whole emotional concept that can be counted as an indication of passion towards the chosen topic.

With stable remarkable results in value for money (25/25) and overall experience (21/25), MyAssignmentHelp is placed at the 8th position in our list of great personal statement writing services.

A screenshot of the PaperHelp homepage

General Logic

PaperHelp is a younger generation of essay-writing services. It says to offer an individual approach to business which is more than fortunate when the task is to create a personal statement. But is legit?

Our work came out with the mark of 79.8/100 pts. It’s a rather adequate result, but still, some aspects need to be paid close attention to. For example, general logic and acuity only gained 64% and 68% which is just slightly higher than the average. The results in terms of word choice and acuity were much better nonetheless – 79% and 77%. Other details can be seen at the end of this review.

In the essay, the writer described the tutoring experience and pride that this practice brought to the narrator. They thoughtfully asked about our life details before starting their writing process. Nevertheless, the story was somewhat missing a personal tone. Still, the narrative would have proven to be quite engaging for the admission officers as it depicted a positive attitude of the person towards their efforts despite possible hardships.

Considering a rather positive overall experience (19/25) and value-for-money ratio (22/25),  PaperHelp made it to our list as the 9th nominee.

Personal essay indexes:

SCORE: 79.8 out of 100 pts. Document formatting is very good, but there is room for improvement. Document formatting issues: vertical spacing; body header; page header. |Observations:| {Integrity}: 100%. {Length}: 100%. {Mechanics:} 86% (spelling 100%, grammar 68%, punctuation 98%, word choice 79%). {Formatting:} ungraded. {Reasoning, logic:} 64% (efficiency 51%, acuity 77%, clarity 79%, objectivity 51%).

A screenshot of the Nerdify homepage

General Logic

You wouldn’t expect such a personalized approach to choosing a writer from a widely popular platform like GoNerdify. Yet, the website sincerely offers their customer to handpick the most suitable performer to write their personal statement essays.

The evaluation showed that the paper we ordered scored 79.2/100. Among all the aspects most crucial for an admission assignment of this sort, grammar showed the best result of 73%. The general logic of the text didn’t roll far back, acquiring 69%. Of course, other indexes, such as word choice (58%), and acuity (51%) could be much improved. To review all the aspects you can refer to the end of the abstract.

The writer used a narration style of the story. As they didn’t contact us regarding the details of our persona, they came up with a unique imaginary plot. Alas, the chosen subject was too personal, as it touched upon the theme of family violence. Many people may find such a story rather problematic or even intolerable because of the drastic emotionality. We feel like that’s where an inquiry about some personal aspects would help avoid these situations. However, the overall plotline of overcoming tough life periods and keeping a positive perspective would fit great into the concept of a personal statement.

Overall experience (19/25) and value-for-money (22/25) did raise the service’s general A*Help score, giving it its place in this list. Generally, GoNerdify did a good job at providing us with a personal essay, but the need for some improvements led to its 10th place in our rating.

Personal essay indexes:

SCORE: 79.2 out of 100 pts. Document formatting is good, but there is room for improvement. I hate personal statements. Of all the academic papers, this makes the least sense to me. Why do I have to explain my goals and prove my ambitions? What if this is something personal and I’d prefer to keep it to myself? Instead, a shit pile of strangers from school I want to get in is going to read it and giggle and make likely fateful decisions for me based on what? Their whims or mood on a given day? This is why I avoid writing something like this, which I view as demeaning. It’s great there are professional services that can do it for me, thanks for sharing the list.

Absolutely! Faint hearts see danger lurking even where there is none. What I’d do if I were in a situation like this, I’d order a paper from a writing service, giving them very clear and specific instructions that really match my life and personality, then I’d see what they’d write and change whatever I’d want to make it more like myself. That’s the perfect scenario no matter how you slice it. You save a lot of time but at the same time you put you hand into writing. Perfect murder.

A personal statement is difficult to write. Everything is difficult to write, but when something specific must be written, it always makes me anxious.

Fintan Mcpherson March 4, 2023

That’s true. The problem with academic writing is that too many people prefer to think it’s way too difficult for them to get it done well. The reality is that there is nothing impossible there. These services give you a lot of freedom in fact. You can always return to one of them if you see your paper isn’t going how you want it. But it’s worth at least trying. Besides, I’m sure the admission doesn’t look for anything perfect. They want to spot a human behind their writing, with all its strengths, of course. But weaknesses are also important.

It is true that a personal statement can and should reveal an applicant’s writing skills, it is important to remember that admissions committees are looking for more than just good writing. They are also looking for applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to their chosen field of study, a clear sense of purpose, and the potential to contribute positively to their school. A well-written personal statement can certainly help an applicant stand out, but it is ultimately just one piece of the larger application puzzle. I’d say it’s up to an individual. Some may just go ahead and place an order with CustomWritings, while others can take some time and write the statement on their own.

I support one of the previous comments. While it’s not anything really humiliating, in my humble opinion, it can really reveal your writing skills even before you actually get admitted to the school you’re applying to. And this is where I see a great deal of risk. If an admission officer dislikes your ideas or the way you convey them, that is your writing talent pretty much, they may simply figure you aren’t good enough for their institution. It may work some other way, of course, I’m not claiming to be 100% sure about that. But still, the risk exists. So it’s great you can ask professional writers to write it for you. They should know better how to make it look appealing.

A personal statement are an important part of the admissions process for many educational institutions and is designed to give applicants the opportunity to showcase their strengths, goals, and unique qualities. I don’t see anything disrespectful here. But it’s only my opinion, of course. And you’re right. If you don’t feel comfortable writing something like this, you can choose a service to compose it for you. Only make sure you read it before submitting it so that you know what your goals and ambitions are.. just in case)
