What is a run-on? I got a comment in my paper, “Run-on sentence.” Sounds not proper, no?

A run-on sentence, or simply a run-on, is when a sentence goes on too long. If you add too many clauses to sentences, sentences start to make less and less sense, because it is difficult to have parallelism in overly long sentences.
